Our Story
UniPlace was born out of firsthand experience with the challenges of student housing. As a university student moving from Toronto to Ottawa, I faced the reality of signing a 12-month lease while only needing a place for the academic year. Every summer, I had to navigate the struggle of finding someone to sublet my place—scrolling through rental websites and Facebook Marketplace, competing against countless other listings.
It was frustrating. Listings got buried, messages went unanswered, and there was no streamlined way for students to connect over short-term rentals.
That’s why I built UniPlace—a dedicated platform designed specifically for student subletting. Whether you're looking for a short-term rental or trying to fill an empty room, UniPlace makes the process simpler, more organized, and tailored to the unique needs of students.
